..a few minutes of time, a world of knowledge. Could little ditties be made to express what we went through together? What would they have in them? Help?
This blog represents a group of creatives who wish to maintain the UMPH and WOW of the creative process.

Bosket went to drawing class....
This is one of my sketches that I liked. I was thinking about the model a lot...her strength and softness (her bravado far outweighed her softness) but there was something gentle. But in this sketch, it was mostly about being skilled!

What is up now
I have been reading-the Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell
and learning about Greek/Roman myths. It also brings up issues of the Universal mind/soul.
I addition, I am learning about the perception of color and psychological response to color.
I have tried different materials together. So far I reject them but will try something different in the future.
It is not directly related to Art but I am learning more about Facebook as well.
Hope all are well and busy!

FUN WORKSHOP!
What you are seeing are the moments where they took the yolk out and made paint. One kid asked to paint his face and his mom said NO, so I said he could paint mine (they were transferred from paper) and then his mom - upon seeing his excitement - said he could paint his own as well. One boy wanted to blend into the treees....sweet idea! The last two boys together are brothers.....that's family!

New paintingsss
22x30 all have 4 subtle colors that appear to be B and W, but they are NOT. They are created in a process that is akin to nature. I have ONE shot to make each one and they either be created or they die.
I have included TWO "failures"...can you tell which ones?
AND more importantly to me, can you say why?
Be well, Tom
{PS: Charles, I didn't see your post???? Try again?
And Does anyone have Andrea's email?)

Bosket new work...more to come....oils 30x38 inches.
You all inspired me.
I wonder, would you all share the creativity spreadsheets you created for yourselves and maybe we can refine our choices with each others help?
Mine to come!

Bosket: New Pieces
Bosket.Fake.Question
iPad
Hello creative nuts!!!
Here are two new works that ask a question for me...."Bosket.Fake.Question" is a 30x38 oil painting and "iPad" is an image "painted" on my iPad.
My question: What determines the "real" of a creative object...and when is it a fake?
Be well, Tom

Dear Mind Food Group
I am so happy to have met you all and to have experienced the Thomas Bosket workshop... It was fun, silly, maddening, frustrating and wonderful, and I have been journaling with sketches a lot since I've been home. Thomas' knowledge of art is so extensive as to be mind boggling, but the biggest take away for me is how he relates to people. I think he set a tone of kindness to and respect for each of us that made the class such a safe place to be in, to learn, to experiment, to put ourselves out there. His deep regard for each of us and our feelings (and that he remembered everyone's name without nametags!), his unremitting energy and zest for life has left me with much to ponder! And the speed with which he put up this blog!
In the spirit of sharing, I would like to post a "splatter painting" that I did before the workshop. The technique is to use very vivid watercolors (Dr. Martin's Radiant Concentrated Water Colors) , drop spatters on a piece of paper, let it dry, go back into it and look for shapes and images and draw them out and elaborate on them with Prisma colors. I left this at home in an unfinished state, and when I got home my husband showed it to me in a new way, upside down! (hint: see the 2 black circles as eyes) I'm not sure if i like it better rightside up or upside down! Jennifer Yane

For our blog
Hi Tom,
Thanks for setting up that blog so quickly-I loved and got SO MUCH learning from the weekend that I like the idea of staying connected and continuing to share our work. In that spirit, I'm sending some images of silk pieces that I dyed today-it was a perfect way to continue to reflect on the learnings of the weekend. At this moment, my favorite summary of the workshop is, to borrow a phrase from the Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hahn , "There is no way to Art. Art is the way". Even in the realms of "Not Knowing", I am enjoying what that means to me (Surety?)
Thanks again for a fascinating workshop experience. Kathy Benner
Pentothal poem
Here's poem one. The others are still working their way through the post-shop filter.

Lip gloss Pentothal (truth serum)
Our relationship had hit a wall
till we discovered Pentothal.
A dab or two upon the lips
and what had been our verbal slips
became a dance of intimates.
First post
It was wonderful having you guys at the workshop this weekend! I'm so glad we all got to play together. I'm excited to get into my studio in the next couple of days to play, to try out what I learned,to further explore.
I think I'm going to keep trying to make pieces that are mean, disrespectful, poorly made, disturbing and have ugly colors. Push that edge and see what's there. I realize I've spent so long trying to avoid that place, that I sense it probably has a lot of UMPH for me. I think once I explore it and let it out, my more preferred types of art will have more room to expand without the fear of crashing into the stuff I've avoided. I'm curious how it'll feel to make what I consider "bad" art. Free, most likely!
What are you planning to do next?
Susan
Sent from my iPad so please excuse ridiculous autocorrects I forgot to notice!

You did it!
Dear..(ests?)
As we have just completed the workshop I thought it may be fun to remember how much FUN we had! (...and how easy it was....)
My hope is that this blog can be a place where we share the heart and tend it so that our creative ways can flow.
This blog can be anything, but I believe our focus will be on aiding the creative practice by sharing with this community. I would like to see this be a place where I travel to and receive some UMPH and WOW!
Be well and thank you!
